Pro/ENGINEER is a software program from Parametric Technology Corporation that is used to create 3D objects using the solid modeling and parametric technology for CAD/CAM/CAE environments. The integration of parametric technology into the software enables the user to create parametric equations to define the relationship between two or more parts of a single object.
Parametric equations enable the corresponding parts to adjust accordingly; where one specification of a part of an object is modified and the corresponding part adjusts accordingly to correspond with the modified specifications of another.
The program’s Graphical User Interface is divided into five categories, including the following: File/Print Management, Rendering, and Drawing/Drafting. Under File/Print Management, the user is presented with the following options: New, Open, Save, Save As, and Print. Clicking on the New icon will open a dialogue box where the user has to choose the type, i.e. Sketch, Part, Assembly, Manufacturing or Drawing; and sub-type, i.e. Solid, Composite or Sheetmetal; of the object that will be designed.
Under Rendering, the options are Wireframe, Hidden Lines, No Hidden and Shaded; while for Drawing/Drafting, the following options are provided: Move/Align Views, Delete Drawing Object, Modify Dimensions, and Switch Dimensions Between Views.
The software is compatible with Windows computers.

File.org aims to be the go-to resource for file type- and related software information. We spend countless hours researching various file formats and software that can open, convert, create or otherwise work with those files.
If you have additional information about which types of files Pro/ENGINEER can process, please do get in touch - we would love hearing from you.
