What is a PRT file?
PRT files have multiple uses, and Pro/ENGINEER Parts is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.
Pro/ENGINEER Parts File
Pro/ENGINEER is a Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software application. Files with the .prt extension contain part files that are created with the program. These files are used in the design of manufactured parts and contain part information including the structure of the part and a 3D model.
Multiple PRT files can be combined into an assembly file, which is given the .asm file extension.
