NRG File
What are NRG files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening a NRG file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your NRG files.
What is a NRG file?
A .NRG file is a Nero Burning ROM CD Image file.
The .nrg extension is assigned to files that have been created with the Nero media disc creation software. The NRG files contain CD or DVD disc images.
These images can be exact copies of a CD or DVD or they may contain a collection of various files that can be mounted as a virtual disc on your computer. This allows you to play certain media applications without the need for the physical disc.
The Nero software is often used to make copies and backups of CDs, DVDs, and important computer files. When you create an NRG file you can play the file on your computer without the need for the actual disc that the file was created from. If you lose the original physical disc, you can burn the file to a new disc as a backup copy.
