Maxthon Browser

What is Maxthon Browser?

Maxthon Browser is a free Web browser developed by Maxthon International Limited. The browser was developed based on Microsoft’s Internet Explorer technology, originally intended for browsing from Windows and Mac OS X platforms. The browser today also supports Android and iOS mobile devices, under Maxthon Mobile.

The software supports Tabbed Document Interface (TDI) which allows the user to open several browser tabs in one window, enabling the user to switch from one Web page to the next without opening another browser window. Tabs that are currently open will also be saved in the event that the browser crashes or does not close down properly, so these can be automatically restored when the browser is launched once again.

The browser has a pop-up and Ad blocker, supports various IE plug-ins and provides an external utility bar that allows the user to access third-party programs. The browser window’s appearance can be customized through various skins provided by the browser.

The Web browser was formerly known as MyIE2. Its latest release is the Maxthon Cloud Browser, which also available for all previously-supported operating systems: Windows, Mac OS X, Android and iOS.
