What is a MHT file?

A .MHT file is a MIME HTML Archive file.

MHT files are commonly associated with the Internet Explorer Web browser. They contain web page archives saved by a user when browsing the internet. This is a way to store a local copy of a web page.

The MHT files contain a copy of a web page's HTML code, images, icons, styles, etc., in a single archive file that users can view offline.

Chrome and other browsers using the Chromium code saves web page archives with the .mhtml extension.
