What are MMP files and how to open them

What is a MMP file?

MMP files have multiple uses, and LMMS Project is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.

LMMS Project File

Files with the ".MMP" extension are LMMS Project files used by the open-source digital audio workstation software, LMMS. These files store all information associated with a project made in LMMS, containing audio tracks, MIDI sequences, instrument settings, and automation data.

When you save a project in LMMS, the .MMP file format is created for that project. This important file enables you to store all project data in one neat and organized place. It also makes it effortless to share projects with other LMMS users so you can collaborate or quickly continue working on a project later.

To load an MMP file in LMMS, select "Open" in the "File" menu. This will open your project with all its settings and data. To save a project as an MMP file, navigate to the "File" menu and click "Save."
