If you are looking for LMMS, you have come to the right place. We explain what LMMS is and point you to the official download.
What is LMMS?
LMMS is a cross-platform computer program developed by the LMMS Team. LMMS stands for Linux Multimedia Suite, which is software that allows users to create music. The software features a variety of editors to make music compositions easier. These editors cover the following areas/effects: beats and basslines, piano melodies and piano patterns, and a song editor.
The software basically functions as a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), where the user is provided with all the tools necessary for producing music. Users can create music through the combination of synthesizer effects, sequences and pre-fabricated samples.
The user interface provides the user with all the editors that are specific to a function: Piano-Roll, Automation Editor, Song-Editor, FX-Mixer, plus a sample browser (My samples) that allows the user to access default presets, controller rack, song editor, beat + bassline editor, and other tools utilized for a specific sample track.
LMMS supports VSTi plug-ins, MIDI keyboard, ZynAddSubFX, SoundFont2 and LADSPA. The software is compatible with Linux and Windows. It also supports the following languages: English, Japanese, Italian, Polish, Korean, Russian, Spanish, Czech, French, German, Catalan, Dutch and Swedish. It is distributed as freeware under the GNU General Public License.
