What is a TPL file?
Files that contain the .tpl file extension are most commonly associated with a variety of different file templates. A wide range of software applications use the .tpl extension to save empty template documents.
Template documents allow a user to store blank files with specific settings so that the files can be used to create several similar documents in the future. TPL files normally store details such as the file layout and the properties of the file. The user can then plug in the information needed to customize the template as necessary and can create many similar documents without having to recreate the settings for each one.
Applications that commonly use the .tpl file extension for file templates include Access Workflow, ACT!, DataCAD and TextBridge among a variety of other computer applications.
