Micro Focus International’s RUMBA is a terminal emulator intended for users who want to access legacy systems in a modern format that circumvents the unwieldiness of green screen applications. Modernization of green screen programs through RUMBA is deemed to have “zero risks” because the software bypasses the need for reprogramming and performs the operation without the need for users to write new code. WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) design interfaces can be incorporated in the modernized application almost automatically, as a result.
The software is proven to integrate faultlessly with MS Office applications for better user productivity and efficiency. Scripting is possible for advanced users who want to further customize the program’s operations. The program also uses certified encryption technologies to secure communication. The software also takes a record of user actions for later review or scrutiny.
RUMBA is compatible with both Windows 7 and Windows 8. It can be downloaded in a 30-day trial version from the developer, but has to be bought for extended usage. The software also has provisions for on-the-go usage through its mobile version (it can be used via iPad) as well as through its online accessibility.
