Opening IMA files

Did your computer fail to open an IMA file? We explain what IMA files are and recommend software that we know can open or convert your IMA files.

What is an IMA file?

Files with the .ima extension are most commonly associated with disk image files. These files are used by a broad range of software applications. The IMA file contains the entire contents of a CD in the same order that the data appears on the CD. WinImage and ImageMixer use the IMA file format.

The .ima file extension is also used for AIM Grey Scale image files, EGO - Chart - Autumn Mirage vector graphic files, System Mechanic files and Incredimail animation files.
