Storm Codec Unicode is software that provides the user with several media file encoders and decoders, so they can play their audio or video files on the computer through their installed media player.
The codecs generally provide support for popular media players, including Windows Media Player (WMP). By default, the codecs are presented in the Chinese language; specifically, Tradition Chinese and Simplified Chinese. There are versions of the Storm Codec pack that are also available in English.
Apart from installing codecs for encoding and decoding media files, the software also provides full Unicode support, allowing the user to display Unicode pages without the need for external software.
Storm Codec Unicode provides codecs that allow the user to play media files rendered in the following formats: MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DIVX, XVID, 3IVX, MP4, AVC/H.264, AC3, DTS, VP3, VP6 and VP7, Indeo, XVD, Theora, OGG, OGM, Matroska, APE, FLAC, TTA, AAC, MPC, Voxware, 3GP and AMR. The player is also capable of handling subtitles, displaying these when available.
In addition, the player is also able to handle online audio and video streams, as well as DVDs and CDs.
