What is Orbitum?

Orbitum is a Web browser that features an integrated browser for social networking sites, enabling users to monitor their social networking accounts while browsing the Internet. The browser displays the user’s friends lists from their social media accounts, and prompts the user if a chat message has been sent by any one of their friends; allowing them to chat with friends even as they surf the Internet.

The Web browser primarily supports Facebook and the Russian-based social networking site, VKontakte or VK. Users can also select which status to display for each friend, whether they want to appear online to specific friends only and offline to the rest or offline/online to everyone.

A search box is provided which enables users to locate sites that they want to visit. The integrated online security feature of the browser alerts the user if a particular site is a possible risk to their computer’s security and health. Users can bookmark pages, open several tabs simultaneously in one window and switch from one social media account to the next without opening another tab or window. Orbitum is compatible with Windows computers.
