What is foobar2000?
foobar2000 is a free player that allows the user to listen to music on the computer. The player was developed by Peter Pawlowski to provide Windows users with a program dedicated to playing audio files.
The player provides support for ReplayGain, which allows audio players to render audio loudness of each track in their normal capacity. The player also supports some of the most common, widely-used audio formats: MP3, MP4, SND, and CD audio format, SPEEX, WMA, FLAC, AIFF, AU, MUSEPACK, VORBIS, WAVPACK and AAC.
The program also functions as an audio file converter, allowing the user to convert their audio files to a different format, that which is supported by the player. In addition, the player also allows for ripping of audio CDs, creating playlists and listening to live radio streams from the Internet.
The user interface can be customized, and the player’s skin can also be changed. The player’s functions can be expanded through the installation of third-party plug-ins, which enable the user to play more audio formats.
It also provides Unicode support, tagging tools and customizable hotkeys.
