Windows Backup File
Files that contain the .win file extension are most commonly used for Windows system backup files. These files contain backup copies of the Windows files on a user's computer.
If the original Windows files that are located on a user's computer happen to become corrupt or are accidentally deleted, the WIN files can be used to restore the data on the user's system.
How to open WIN files
Important: Different programs may use files with the WIN file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your WIN file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
