What is a PRZ file?

A .PRZ file is a Lotus Freelance Graphics Presentation file.

Lotus Freelance Graphics Presentation files (with the extension .PRZ) are proprietary slide show documents created by IBM Lotus Freelance Graphics, part of the Lotus SmartSuite family of programs. These files store complete slide show presentations, including text, images, charts, diagrams and drawings, formatted and arranged on slides for projecting or sharing presentations. The program was commonly used in the 1990s and early 2000s on DOS, OS/2, and Windows systems.

Files are authored and saved using Lotus Freelance Graphics. End users generate and format slides in this program; afterward the .PRZ file is used for viewing or showing the presentation via a slide show player or within the same program. There was also a "Freelance Mobile Screen Show Player" tool for displaying .PRZ files without needing the full authoring software.

The internal structure is proprietary and binary, not widely documented, and is not compatible with modern presentation formats without conversion. The file begins with the ASCII signature FREELANCE at offset 0x00010F (bytes 0x00010F00465245454C414E4345) which serves as a byte-level identifier.
