How to open PROPERTIES files
Did your computer fail to open a PROPERTIES file? We explain what PROPERTIES files are and recommend software that we know can open or convert your files.
What is a PROPERTIES file?
Files that contain the .properties file extension are text files that store properties information about the properties and settings of various computer applications. The PROPERTIES files are used by Java applications and the Apache Web Server software as well as Firefox and other computer software applications.
The PROPERTIES files that are created by the many different software applications contain a list of variable names and value pairs that pertain to the associated computer application. This data stores the properties of the associated application. If a user changes the properties of the software, the PROPERTIES file is then updated as the properties of the software changes.
