What is a PAS file?

Pascal Source Code File

Files that contain the .pas file extension are most commonly associated with the Pascal programming language. The Pascal language is a procedural programming language that was published in 1970. It has been influential in developing many other programming languages seen today.

PAS files associated with Pascal contain the source code of a program that has been written in the Pascal language. A Pascal development system can compile these PAS files into an executable program.

Delphi is one of the most known programming environments using the Pascal programming language. There are free IDEs available like FreePascal, although they have their limitations.

We know that one PAS format is WinCC Script. We have not yet analyzed in detail what these files contain and what they are used for. We're working on it.
