What are PARTIAL files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening a PARTIAL file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your PARTIAL files.
What is a PARTIAL file?
Files that contain the .partial file extension are most commonly associated with files that have been partially downloaded from the Internet. A variety of different download managers use the .partial file suffix when a file download is in progress.
When a file download has been completed, the .partial file extension will be replaced with the file's proper file extension. For example, if an MP3 file is being downloaded with a program that uses the .partial file extension, the file would be downloaded as songname.partial during the download process. Once the file had completed downloading it would be renamed as songname.mp3.
