How to open PARTIAL files
Did your computer fail to open a PARTIAL file? We explain what PARTIAL files are and recommend software that we know can open or convert your files.
What is a PARTIAL file?
Files that contain the .partial file extension are most commonly associated with files that have been partially downloaded from the Internet. A variety of different download managers use the .partial file suffix when a file download is in progress.
When a file download has been completed, the .partial file extension will be replaced with the file's proper file extension. For example, if an MP3 file is being downloaded with a program that uses the .partial file extension, the file would be downloaded as songname.partial during the download process. Once the file had completed downloading it would be renamed as songname.mp3.
