Opening GCD files

Did your computer fail to open a GCD file? We explain what GCD files are and recommend software that we know can open or convert your GCD files.

What is a GCD file?

Files that contain the .gcd file extension are most commonly associated with the Generic CADD computer aided drafting software application. This software is used to create computerized architectures including floor plans and the layouts of buildings being designed with the application. The software is commonly used by professional architects and architect design students.

The GCD files that are used by the Generic CADD software contain the designs that have been created with the program.

The Prassi Global-CD software application has also been known to use the .gcd file suffix. These GCD files contain disk image files that have been created by a user using the Prassi Global-CD computer program.

Try a universal file viewer

In addition to the products listed above, I would suggest that you try a universal file viewer like Free File Viewer. It can open over 200 different types of files - and very likely yours too! Download Free File Viewer.
