DXR File
What are DXR files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening a DXR file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your DXR files.
What is a DXR file?
A .DXR file is an Adobe Director Protected Movie file.
Files that contain the .dxr file extension are most commonly associated with the Adobe Director, previously known as Macromedia Director, software application. The DXR files that are used by this software program contain Director movie files that have been stored in a non-editable file format. This allows a user to share and distribute a Director file without allowing other users to make edits or modifications to it.
The DXR files are saved in an uncompressed format. Macromedia developed the DXR file format, but the company was taken over by Adobe in 2005.
The last version of Director was released in 2013 and the software has been discontinued.
