What is a DXB file?

DXB files have multiple uses, and AutoCAD Drawing Exchange Binary Format is one of them. Read more about the others further down the page.

AutoCAD Drawing Exchange Binary Format

These DXB files contain the geometric description of the drawings created in AutoCAD, a design drafting software. These DXB files allow you to transfer the drawings from AutoCAD to other programs. DXB is the binary form of the DXF file and is used because certain programs did not have the equivalent object types of the CAD drawing.

How to open DXB files

Important: Different programs may use files with the DXB file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your DXB file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
