What is a BUP file?
BUP files are backup files that are created and stored on your PC by a variety of different computer applications. These files are often created from DVD files as image backup files to create a backup image of the contents that are on the DVD onto your computer.
If you play a DVD on your computer and the .IFO file is unreadable due to a surface scratch, the .bup file may be used to retrieve the data. BUP files are also used by programs that archive and store user information. In certain cases, a .bup file will contain backup files that have been created by an application before the application crashes to prevent a loss of data.
