Opening BOX files
Did your computer fail to open a BOX file? We explain what BOX files are and recommend software that we know can open or convert your BOX files.
What is a BOX file?
Files that contain the .box file extension are most commonly used to store email messages. A variety of email applications use the .box file extension to store collections of email messages. These email messages can be opened individually by opening the contents of the BOX file.
The .mbox and .dbx file extensions have been replacing the BOX file format over time. Popular email programs that use the .box file extension include the Lotus Notes Mailbox, FoxMail and Calypso email applications.
The BOX file format is also associated with the CARA Loudspeaker Design application. This software allows users to play computer-aided room acoustics. The BOX files that are used by the program simulate the audio characteristics of a speaker using this simulation application.
