What are ASS files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening an ASS file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your ASS files.
What is an ASS file?
An .ASS file is a SubStation Alpha Subtitles file.
Files that contain the .ass file extension are most commonly associated with the SubStation Alpha software program. These ASS files contain subtitle files that are created by the software application.
The ASS file format allows for the formatting and styling of subtitle text and is commonly used in Karaoke software. It is one of the few subtitle applications that allow for the formatting and stylizing of subtitle text and, as such, is very popular in Anime and Karaoke projects.
While ASS files are similar to other subtitle files in many ways, the ASS file format offers more advanced subtitle formatting than similar file formats such as the SRT file format.
