What is Microsoft Office Click-to-Run?
Microsoft Office 2010’s new feature is called the Click-To-Run, which, reduced to a nutshell, is a streaming Office application over the Internet. This enables the user to enjoy and experience the convenience and utility of the newest Office iteration without waiting for it to be installed and updated; you can simply click the Click-To-Run application manager and you can automatically start work on an Office application you like and that’s it. This gives the Office Click-To-Run a considerable advantage over previous versions of Microsoft Office, which requires a significant amount of time to be installed and then later to be updated.
Why would you use the Click-To-Run feature? Simply because you can run the Office program in a matter of minutes, and the entire Office 2010 suite in a matter of a couple of hours, or even an hour. However, this new feature assumes that you have a decent Internet connection to fully enjoy the potential of Click-To-Run. Once the entire Office 2010 set is complete, you can use the suite as you would like any other program; the advantage Click-To-Run gives you is that you can start your work anytime, anywhere, and not worry about your installation being outdated.
