What is a MMW file?

A .MMW file is an AceMoney Data file.

AceMoney Data files (.MMW) store all of a user's personal finance information in a single file used by the AceMoney application from MechCAD Software. These files are created by AceMoney and hold account types (such as checking, savings, credit cards, loans, investments), transaction history, scheduled payments, balances over time, and user settings for customized account types and reports.

AceMoney writes .MMW files as its main data store. Users work with these files by opening them in AceMoney to view, edit, or report on their finances, and can back them up or restore from them. Older versions of AceMoney use .MMW; newer versions have introduced a different format (.AMJ), but .MMW remains supported for files created in or migrated from older versions.

Internally, a .MMW file can be identified by specific byte signatures. It begins with the bytes 01 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 at offset 0 of the file, and contains recognizable ASCII strings like "CREDIT", "MENT", and "TELE" in its contents.
