What are DOTM files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening a DOTM file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your DOTM files.
What is a DOTM file?
Files that contain the .dotm file extension are associated with the Microsoft Word word processing software application. The .dotm file extension is used for the macro-embedded document template files that are used by the software.
The document templates contained in the DOTM files can be used to create multiple documents, with each document containing the same formatting and macros. This prevents the user from having to create the same settings and macros over and over again each time a new document is created.
The DOTM file format was introduced with the 2007 of Microsoft Office and is also used in the 2010 version.
