How to open SIB files

Did your computer fail to open a SIB file? We explain what SIB files are and recommend software that we know can open or convert your files.

What is a SIB file?

Files that contain the .sib file extension are most commonly associated with the Sibelius music notation software application. These files contain musical scores that have been created by the Sibelius software.

The Sibelius software application was developed for professionals and students who wish to learn how to write music through the use of a computer. The Sibelius software application can write, print and play musical scores.

SIB files can be composed using software instruments or MIDI devices. While the SIB files can be used to play musical software instruments, the SIB files themselves do not actually contain any audio data themselves.
