What is a RDB file?
RDB files have multiple uses, and Act! Remote Database is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.
Act! Remote Database
Act!, previously Sage Act, is a marketing and CRM software solution. If you want to set up a remote copy of your database, you export the local database to an RDB file. You must then transfer it to the remote server and unpack it.

While Act! Remote Database is a popular type of RDB-file, we know of 4 different uses of the .RDB file extension. Different software may use files with the same extension for different types of data.
Nintendo64 ROM Database
These files are N64 ROM database files that contain a list of games created for Nintendo 64 emulation applications. The RDB files do not contain the actual game files themselves. Instead, they contain a database of referenced N64 ROM game files. Like a music playlist, but for games.

We have identified 2 RDB openers that are compatible with this specific type of RDB file.
OpenOffice/LibreOffice Type Library Database
We know that one RDB format is OpenOffice/LibreOffice Type Library Database. We have not yet analyzed in detail what these files contain and what they are used for. We're working on it.
