What is a RA file?
A .RA file is a RealAudio Audio file.
These files have been created for the RealPlayer media playback application. The RA files are created with the RealAudio codec and the file format is proprietary to the RealNetworks Corporation.
The RA file format is a file format that was commonly used to stream music and radio broadcasts over the Internet to a user's computer. The files containing the .ra file format only contain audio data even though the RealPlayer is capable of playing video as well.
The file format's video counterpart use files that are saved with the .rv file extension.
