What are PPSX files and how to open them

What is a PPSX file?

The .ppsx file extension is used by the Microsoft PowerPoint presentation software. PowerPoint allows users to create slide shows containing images, text, music and video. The PPSX file format is used for versions of PowerPoint 2007 and later. Versions prior to the 2007 edition of the software were assigned the .pps file extension.

The new "x" that has been assigned to the file extension in the later versions of PowerPoint stands for "XML". The XML file format was introduced with the 2007 version of PowerPoint. The XML technology allows for better data management and data recovery of PowerPoint files.

How to open PPSX files

Important: Different programs may use files with the PPSX file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your PPSX file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
