What is a PL file?
PL files have multiple uses, and Perl Script is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.
Perl Script
These are scripts written in the Perl programming language. Perl is a high-level dynamic programming language that was initially developed in 1987 by Larry Wall.
PL files are commonly used for applications that parse and analyze text, or any other task that must be performed on a server without a graphical user interface.
Perl can also be used to extend web server functionality through CGI scripts.
The scripts are in plain text and can be opened by any text editor.
