What is an OPT file?
Files that contain the .opt file extension are used by a variety of computer applications to store options files for the associated software program. These OPT files contain program configuration information such as the software's user preferences and personal options. These options may include the way the software behaves, how it appears or the color themes and screen resolution.
When a user modifies the preferences of one of their software programs, the associated OPT file is also modified to reflect the changes to the software. Popular applications that use the .opt file extension for options preferences include Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft Developer Studio, Symantec pcAnywhere and Borland Delphi.
