Opening OPS files

Did your computer fail to open an OPS file? We explain what OPS files are and recommend software that we know can open or convert your OPS files.

What is an OPS file?

Files that contain the .ops file extension are most commonly associated with the Microsoft Office software suite. The OPS files contain a user's profile settings that are saved within the Microsoft Office software.

A variety of information regarding a user's custom settings for their Microsoft Office applications are stored within the OPS file. The information can then be used to export the settings to another computer or to restore the settings on the user's current system if the data becomes corrupt.

The OPS file format is used for the 2003 version of Microsoft Office. Other versions of the software do not use the .ops file suffix.

Try a universal file viewer

In addition to the products listed above, I would suggest that you try a universal file viewer like Free File Viewer. It can open over 200 different types of files - and very likely yours too! Download Free File Viewer.
