Files that contain the .net file extension are used to store a variety of different file formats for a variety of different software applications.

The netViz Enterprise software also uses the .net file suffix. This software is commonly used for business diagramming. The diagrams created with the software are saved with the .net file extension.
FileMaker Pro also uses the .net file suffix. This application normally uses these files in order to enable TCP/IP support.
