What is Sleipnir?
Fenrir Inc.’s Sleipnir is a web browser released for Mac, Windows, Android, and iOS. One of the browser’s main features is the ability to “beautify” on-screen text. The application actually smoothens on-screen fonts and renders them more “finished” to the eye by using an inbuilt font rendering engine. The result is smoother-looking text with fewer jagged pixels, especially in letters’ diagonal and curved lines.
The browser also makes use of a unique tabbed interface that provides thumbnail tabs at the top of the window (in the toolbar) for user convenience in navigating through multiple open tabs. Furthermore, the browser toolbar itself has been redesigned: breaking away from standard browser toolbars, Sleipnir has no address bar, although there is still text at the top displaying the URL. To go to a specific URL, users only need to change that text by clicking right on it.
Sleipnir is compatible with touch input. The browser also makes it possible for users to bind tabs to one another or bundle together associated tabs in order to make tab navigation easier. The Windows version of the program supports extensions as well.
