What is a MDL file?
Files that contain the .mdl file extension are used by a variety of computer applications to store 3D model files. These files usually contain information about the 3D model that is stored in the file including the meshes of the model, the objects and the textures.
MDL files are often used to create buildings and objects within gaming applications. Popular applications that use the .mdl file extension include Warcraft III, Half-Life and Quake.
The DigiTrakker software application has also been known for using the .mdl file suffix. These MDL files contain music module files that are referenced by the software.
Suggest another file format using extension MDL
While we know of one file format using the .MDL file extension, there may be more. It is widespread that different programs use files with the same file extension for very different types of data. Please let us know if you are aware of a different kind of .MDL file.
