Are you having problems opening a M2V file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your M2V files.
What is a M2V file?
A .M2V file is a MPEG-2 Video Stream file.
An M2V file is a MPEG-2 video file that contains no audio or subtitles.
MPEG files consist of several "streams" of data, where two of them are Video and Audio. An M2V file contains the video part, whereas the audio stream can be stored in e.g. an M2A-file or a WAV-file. You will seldomly come across standalone .M2V files unless you work with systems operating with separate MPEG data streams, which could e.g. be DVD-authoring software.
