M File

What are M files and how to open them

Are you having problems opening a M file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your M files.

What is a M file?

M files have multiple uses, and Objective-C Methods is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.

Objective-C Methods File

These files are source code files that contain class implementations written in the Objective-C programming language, usually using Apple Xcode on a Macintosh computer.

In C++, programmers use .cpp and .h files, where a .h header file contains the definition of a class of private and public methods and variables, and the .cpp file contains the actual implementation.

Objective-C takes it a step further, and separates .h files into .h and .m files. The .h header file contains all public methods of a class, and the .m file contains all private methods and data only accessible by the class implementation itself.
