Did your computer fail to open a DRF file? We explain what they are used for and recommend software that we know can open or otherwise handle your .DRF files.
What is a DRF file?
The .drf or the Discreet Render Format file extension is associated with VIZ and 3D Max render files that contains digital 3D images and graphic scene data.
A DRF file consists of rendered images which are detailed and complex pieces of a specific structure from every side and every corner, making up the source structure. DRF files contain a number of images that are pieces of one large picture or model.
The Autodesk Architecture software is one of the primary software programs that can work with .drf files. It is normally bundled with the VIZ Render application. The program is used to create, open and edit the content of DRF files. There are versions of this application for Mac and Microsoft Windows-based systems.
3DS Max 2013 software can be used to open and view the content of these DRF files, but is not designed to have features that can allow users to edit the files under the said file type. To compensate for the lack of add- ons, 3DS Max allows users to export the DRF files into MAX projects, which are saved in the MAX format that can be edited using the said software.
