Opening DIC files

Did your computer fail to open a DIC file? We explain what DIC files are and recommend software that we know can open or convert your DIC files.

What is a DIC file?

Files that contain the .dic file extension are most commonly associated with software dictionary files. These files contain a list of words that are referenced by a variety of different computer applications in order to spell-check user-created documents.

Popular applications that use the .dic extension for dictionary files include Nvu, Lotus Domino, Lotus Notes, WordExpress and Mozilla.

The Easy Timesheets software application has also been known to use the .dic file suffix. These DIC files contain timesheet information that is used by the computer application.

The Microsoft Dynamics GP application also uses the .dic file extension. These files contain program source code files that are created within the software program.
