What is a D81 file?
A .D81 file is a Commodore 1581 Diskette Dump file.
A D81 file contains a byte-for-byte dump of a diskette formatted for use with the Commodore 64 home computer equipped with a Commodore 1581 disk drive. Each disk can hold a total of 819200 bytes.
These dump files contain an exact copy of the disk contents and can be used in emulators that let you run Commodore 64 games and programs on your modern PC. This format is similar to D64, which contains a dump of a diskette formatted for the Commodore 1541 disk drive.
