Comic Collector Collection Data

Comic Collector Collection Data files store the data for a user's comic collection as managed by the Comic Collector software made by Bitz & Pixelz BV. They are used to save all information about the comics owned or tracked: series names, issue numbers, release dates, variants, publishers, cover images, credits, plot notes, custom fields, and similar cataloging details. The software creates this format when the user saves or backs up their collection database. It is not simply an export: it is the program's full internal database format.

These files are read by the Comic Collector application (desktop version by Bitz & Pixelz / CLZ) in order to display the collection, allow editing, search, sync with cloud storage, export subsets or all of the data in text/XML/CSV, and to preserve custom user data including user-defined fields and filters. When migrating from an older version to newer software or recovering from backups, the application imports this database format to restore full functionality.

Internally the file begins with a distinctive ASCII signature at the very start of the file, which reads "..Collectorz.com..Comic" (bytes shown in hex at offset zero) as a header to identify it as belonging to this format. That signature is used by the software or supporting tools to recognize that the file is from Comic Collector.
