APS File

Did your computer fail to open an APS file? We explain what they are used for and recommend software that we know can open or otherwise handle your .APS files.

What is an APS file?

An .APS file is an AProSys Module file. .aps files are module files of the AproSys application. AproSys is an example of a sound tracker or tracker, a tool used to create music. Aprosys created sound module files for the Amiga, a computer line introduced by Commodore in the 80s.

The Amiga was a computer system and game console in one. AproSys created .aps files as music module files used in the game development for the Amiga.

What else are .APS files used for?

While AProSys Module is a popular type of APS-file, we know of 2 different uses of the .APS extension.

The APS file extension indicates to your device which app can open the file. However, different apps may use the same file extension for different types of data. So an APS opener may not be able to open all kinds of APS files. In this case, look through both formats to make sure you find the best suited APS viewer.

ArcPad Stylesheet

.aps files are ArcPad Stylesheet files, files containing data symbol definitions used by ArcPad. ArcPad is an example of mobile mapping and geographical information system (GIS) software.

This kind of software is responsible for field mapping and data collection for GIS software, which is used in maps, GPS devices, navigational systems, etc.
