What are ANTMPL files and how to open them

What is an ANTMPL file?

An .ANTMPL file is an Adobe Edge Animate Template file.

Adobe Edge Animate Template files store reusable animation templates created by Adobe Edge Animate. These templates capture design elements such as images, text, symbols, and fonts, along with any custom changes made to a composition. They're intended for designing animated web content and allow users to save a setup once and reuse it to start new projects from a consistent base.

These template files are produced by choosing "Save As Template…" from within a live project in Adobe Edge Animate. Once saved, the templates can be stored anywhere on the file system and freely shared or distributed. Users can later create new compositions based on a template by selecting "Create from Template" from either the welcome screen or the File menu, or by importing an existing template.

The format begins with a standard ZIP-archive signature at the very start and includes internal files that correspond to parts of the Edge Animate composition, such as TEMPLATE-INFO, MANIFEST, thumbnail images, preload scripts, and action or preload sections (e.g. TEMPLATE-INFO.JSPK, MANIFEST.JSPK, _EDGEACTIONS.JSPK, _EDGEPRELOAD.JSPK, THUMB.PNGPK). These internal parts help Edge Animate reconstruct the visual layout, timeline actions, and supporting runtime files when using the template.

How to open ANTMPL files

Important: Different programs may use files with the ANTMPL file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your ANTMPL file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
