What is an AA3 file?
An .AA3 file is an ATRAC3 Encoded Audio file.
.aa3 is an extension assigned to ATRAC3-encoded audio files. ATRAC (Adaptive Transform Acoustic Coding) is a first-class audio compression technology devised by Sony for portable audio players. It squeezes audio files while still preserving excellent sound quality. The ATRAC3 codec is an ancient version of the ATRAC codec, which has since been replaced with newer versions such as ATRAC3plus and ATRAC Advanced Lossless.
ATRAC3-encoded audio files are frequently employed for the saving and playback of music on movable audio players. They are also utilized in making and sharing digital audio material, for instance music tracks and podcasts. Due to the exclusive nature of the ATRAC codec and the fact that not all gadgets and software are compatible with it, ATRAC3-encoded audio files are not used as much as other audio file formats like MP3 or AAC. Nevertheless, they can still be heard on portable audio players and software that accept the ATRAC codec.
