SonicStage
If you are looking for SonicStage, you have come to the right place. We explain what SonicStage is and point you to the official download.
What is SonicStage?
SonicStage is a portable multimedia device manager that enables users to organize the way they enjoy their stored multimedia files. It is created by Sony Corporation and supports content downloaded and stored using Microsoft Windows. It is embedded in Sony range of products like the VAIO Pcs and is also available for free download.
With the SonicStage, users can play, organize and manage their virtual music library in a user-friendly and familiar workflow by using the format of popular multimedia managers like Windows Media Player, iTunes or RealPlayer. It also manages the music library in MP3 and ATRAC OMA-OMG recording formats.
Because of its brand restriction policies, SonicStage employs stringent copyright adherence like the Digital Rights Management. As such, users are limited in some actions like unlimited downloading, copying and distribution of videos and music. As such, users of SonicStage cannot easily move their music and video library files from their host computer into a mobile device, and vice versa.
The Sony copyright policies also make media file transfer back to the PC hard, since it requires a new administrator rights to work. In instances when the PC is upgraded or has its technical specifications changed, the SonicStage application will no longer work. Another limitation is its non-support for some old devices like the Hi-MD Walkman and MP3-CD players.
