Developed by Jonathan Needle, the Spectaculator ZX Spectrum Emulator is a PC emulator application particularly used for Windows-based systems. This emulator specifically works for Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8. It emulates a range of spectrums such as +2A, +3, +2, +128, 48 K, and 128. It is also used to emulate clones of Scorpion ZS256 as well as of the Russian Pentagon.
Spectaculator ZX Spectrum Emulator was first utilized during the 80s when 8-bit gaming gained grounds. With the use of this emulator, users may take part in playing licensed ZX Spectrum platforms. Examples of these games are Bounder and Avenger, both developed and designed by Gremlin Graphics. 3D Starstrike, a game developed and released by Realtime Games Software, can also be explored using this emulator. Other games include Auf Wiedersehen Monty, Dark Star, and Cyclone, Forbidden Planet, and Krackout.
Games developed by Design Design such as Halls of the Things and Dynamite Dan are also among the licensed games that can be accessed and played using the Spectaculator ZX Spectrum Emulator.
Spectaculator ZX Spectrum Emulator has also been enhanced to be used on iPods and iPads. The recent version comes with other features such as the capability to save the game progress and the possibility of using ZX Spectrum-based keyboard.
