What is Power Tab Editor?
The Power Tab Editor software is a tablature authoring tool that is exclusively designed for Windows operating systems (OS). It is a software supposedly made for the guitar sheet music creation (guitar and bass tablature) that includes common tablature symbols such as chord diagrams, rhythm slashes, bends, slides, hammer-ons/pull-offs, harmonic and palm muting. The Power Tab Editor is quite handy for both new learners and professionals alike, with features catering to acoustic and electric. Key features include Playback of Power Tab scores, Chord & Tuning Dictionaries, and a Full Print Preview and Printing of Power Tab scores. The software is also able to import MIDI tracks, as well as export ASCII text, HTML, and MIDI formats, with individual sections also able to be exported as bitmap files.
The Power Tab Editor was created by Brad Larson as a free software; it was released in 2000 and the open-source wxWidgets based program called PT Parser was released in 2006. Its minimum requirements for operation are a Pentium processor with 100MHz, 16MB of RAM, 5MB of disc space, and a Windows 95 operating system.
