What is PitchPerfect Musical Instrument Tuner?

PitchPerfect Musical Instrument is a software program that allows the user to tune musical instruments directly from the omputer. The software is actually intended for guitars and a number of other stringed instruments such as cello, fiddle, violin and viola. For guitars, these include electric and acoustic, bass, double bass, mandolin, baritone guitar and ukulele.

This is free software that you can download from the official website of NCH Software, the program’s developer. To enable the PitchPerfect Musical Instrument to fine tune your guitar strings, you will need to attach an audio input device to the computer such as a microphone. This is essential because the program needs to “hear” the strings that you are strumming or plucking.

Once you have attached the audio device, and the program is open; choose the instrument that you want to tune from the drop down list on the program’s User Interface. Next, choose the tune settings that you want from another drop down menu. Once you have picked out the settings, strum or pluck the corresponding string.

The program will detect if the string is fine-tuned or not. If it is not, a red line will be shown right beside the note that you want to tune. The interface shows you at which frequency your note is playing. You can then begin to tune the note based on standard settings, as shown in the green line that sits on top of the red line. The green line displays the right frequency for the note.
